CLUB AND EURO From about 1990 House commercially breaks through in Europe. Disco's are called clubs from then on, and the most popular music in clubs is called Club. Basically this is House as explained above: 1 2 3 4. Some styles are called Handbag, because the girls danced around their handbags in the clubs where it originated. The more relaxed form of Club with clean beats and sounds is Mellow. The really commercial House was made on the continent of Europe. This was a breakthrough in the world of popular music, since the UK and USA had dominated the Top 40 for decennia. Germany, Belgium, Sweden, The Netherlands, all brought chart killers. These were called Euro House, Techno and Rave. Think of Snap or listen to Two Unlimited, products which ruled the Top 40 for many years. Although not being the favourite House of the manager of this Primer, Euro can give a really party feeling to parties. | |||||
